A second special Record Store Day 2026 release has been announced: Elvis Presley's "Elvis 1961 – The King of the Whole Wide World" will be released as a stunning 3-LP set on colored vinyl. Elvis 1961 – The King of the Whole Wide World will also be released as a 3-CD set. This CD release features the same extensive selection of recordings from 1961 as the 3-LP version, offering a broad overview of a pivotal year in which Elvis further refined and confirmed his artistic prowess.
Both RSD 2026 CD releases will also be released on Record Store Day 2026 (April 18, 2026) and will of course be available then via ShopElvisMatters.com
This release focuses on the year Elvis honed his artistic talents and made his definitive mark on the music world. The set includes essential recordings from 1961, including both well-known classics and studio recordings that showcase Elvis' versatility, intensity, and creativity during this period.
This special edition will be released on Record Store Day 2026, Saturday, April 18, 2026. As usual with RSD titles, availability is limited and only available from April 18 via ShopElvisMatters.
