Elvis had several bodyguards throughout the years. In the later period of Elvis' seventies concert tours, Sam Thompson was one of them. Sam was and still is known as, and so it should be, an exceptionally loyal person to Elvis.
Sam was Elvis' bodyguard during 10 road tours which represented a total of 130 shows. These 10 tours were spread over the last year that Elvis was active as an entertainer. Namely from July 1976 to June 1977. During this period a deep friendship grew between Elvis and Sam, with enormous mutual respect. This publication gives an insight into life "on the road" through the eyes of a good and respected employee, a bodyguard for a world artist who struggled with various problems and at the same time had the incredibly high urge to give himself completely for his fans during these 130 concerts.
In 1992 Sam published this book about his years with Elvis. That book has now been updated and re-released by the Danish Memphis Mansion.
