The Follow That Dream label has announced another exciting vinyl release. This time, the Clambake soundtrack will be released as a limited 2-LP edition within the FTD Vinyl series.
The original album, released in October 1967, reflects a period when Elvis's film soundtracks were a staple in his catalog. Although the album received mixed reviews at the time, it still contained several strong recordings. Songs like "Guitar Man," "Big Boss Man," "Just Call Me Lonesome," and "You Don't Know Me," from the Nashville sessions of September 1967, are often considered highlights from this period. Titles like "The Girl I Never Loved" and "How Can You Lose What You Never Had" also underscore the project's musical quality.
This new FTD release is based on the original British release and bears the distinctive Red Dot RCA Victor label. The double LP includes the original soundtrack masters, studio outtakes, and additional bonus tracks, providing a more complete picture of the Clambake recording sessions.
As usual with FTD, this is a limited edition.
