Elvis About To Roll All Over Vegas
Panther Records recently released their first release: a concert from 1973 at the Hilton in Las Vegas.
August 28, 1973 is the date, and we are talking about the Midnight Show from that day. This is only the second CD release of this show, 34 years after the first release in 1992. Since then, a much better source has been found (a soundboard recording!), and therefore you can expect significantly better sound quality; moreover, the playback speed has been corrected!
Enjoy this casual show, in which Elvis tries out "My Boy" before he would eventually record it in the studio in December 1973. For some reason, he had trouble concentrating on this version, resulting in a hilarious segment featuring, among other things, an improvised version of the old gospel song "What A Friend We Have In Jesus," which he knew from his childhood in Tupelo, where he sang it with his parents and the entire community at every church service.
